Course Description: We have the warmest climate for October in the entire USA !Everything happens at the Resort with expected temperatures of 80°. Swim in Moolvayla Lake, ride next to the Colorado River both in California and Arizona and run on the campus of Blue Water. You are never more than a stones throw away from the water. THE SWIM: This is the very best part. Lake Moovalya is formed by the Headgate Dam blocking the Colorado River (see center picture below). The cleanest water in the Southwest. We start North and swim with the very slight current. What a blast! Fast times. Water temp for 2006 was 75° and '07 was 74° with '08 and '09 at 73°. Wetsuits are OK.




THE BIKE: Air Temperature for '07 at START was 68° F. Bike from bridge to dam always along the Colorado River in both Arizona and California. We actually cross the Colorado River twice and the Parker Dam once. Check race maps below for more detail and elevation gains. Race numbers must be worn and visible from the FRONT. Cyclists are personally responsible for the proper working condition of their bike. Bike helmets are required. No drafting.




The Run: Happens next to the water with small portion on hard packed trail and finish next to the Resort. Three water aid stations with additional supplies of HEED.

  • LATE REGISTRATION & PACKET PICK UP: Blue Water Resort on Friday Oct 19 from 4 to 6:00 PM @ River's Edge Cantina right next to the river. For the rare few, you can pick up on event morning prior to start. No Race Day Registration
  • AWARDS: 5 year age groups with plaques 3 deep. Sprint 14 and younger and Long is 19 and younger.
  • GOODIES: All get a no advertising event specific T-shirt, finisher medal, ceramic mug, and Hammer bike bottle. Overall and Master alabaster sculptures. Awards Ceremony: Saturday noon. Can't make it? Don't worry, we mail plaques but not alabaster sculptures.
  • Boating. Gaming. Casino entertainment.

Cancellation Policy: There are NO REFUNDS. You can cancel up to 21 days prior to event for a TRANSFER to a future MME specific event within the next 12 months. Within 20 days or less, there are NO TRANSFERS. Please check the countdown timer above the pricing schedule. You can switch divisions any time prior to race day for a fee of $5 plus any entry fee differences. Don't you wish all events had this friendly & liberal policy?
