DESCRIPTION - FLAGSTAFF AZ: This is the 4th oldest triathlon West of the Mississippi River. And here is why: It is The most beautiful course in the entire Southwest. Right after the monsoon season with flora in full bloom. Our 31st annual event with fun, prizes and a great course. Nine miles south of Flagstaff, AZ on Lake Mary Road at mile post 333. Locate This event goes rain or shine.

gogglesTHE SWIM: This is the City of Flagstaff Reservoir: Upper Lake Mary. Average lake temperature for the last 8 years has been exactly 71° F. Wetsuits OK. Wave starts. Breaking News: Recent heavy rains are filling up our lake FAST.
 helmetTHE BIKE: Cut off time for the half swim and bike is 4:45 hours. You will not be allowed to start the run past this time. Is there a more beautiful bike course in the West? Out and back course on paved roads with wide bike shoulders. Olympic and half iron courses has three consecutive hills near the turnaround. Beautiful vistas with lake views the whole way. 70.3 Half: Hilly course with nothing steeper than 395 feet and great views of San Francisco Peaks. Race numbers must be attached to your bike frame. Cyclists are personally responsible for the proper working condition of their bike. Bike helmets are required. elevations.

shoe THE RUN: Out and back run on paved roads along beautiful Lake Mary. Olympic course climbs a decent hill (385') and sprint course is flat. 70.3 Half iron  course climbs the same hill and then is flat for 10 miles. Race numbers must be worn and visible from the front. Water aid stations are every 1.2 miles. Run defensively and follow all instructions of safety personnel. Traffic will not be stopped for this event, except at the intersections and turnarounds and then at the discretion of the safety personnel. elevations








THE WEATHER: Could be a little cool in the early morning for Phoenix types, but for all others: perfect for racing. The Flagstaff monsoon season should also be through, but check the local weather forecast for rain. Check below under "links" for current weather conditions. USA Tri Membership: This is a USAT sanctioned event. You must be an annual member and have your membership card with you OR pay a one-day event fee.

USA TRIATHLON: This is a USAT sanctioned event. You must be an annual member and have your membership card with you OR pay a one-day event fee of $12 at packet pickup.You may also purchase it on line through USAT an annual membership for $45.

PACKET PICK UP and/or LATE REGISTRATION are available on Friday 8/14 Absolute Bike 202 E. Route 66 in downtown Flagstaff from 3 to 5 PM. No info sessions, no maps just a quick pick up and run. Also, both are available on Saturday at race site with Tribe Multisport EXPO from 2 to 4:30 PM. All athletes must present a picture ID to pick up their packet. You can only get your own packet, not any other competitors packet. All timing chip pick up is on race mourning. Information session is at 4 PM. For the one or two who can't make it, please get your packet on event morning at least 45 minutes prior to the start of your event. Your triathlon club is welcome to set up a tent next to the transition area. No race day registration.

Check out other accommodations at: Flagstaff Hotel/Motels. Several US Forest Service campgrounds are located on the course. They don't take reservations and are on a first come first serve basis. Also, camping is allowed anywhere in the Coconino National Forest but not in the transition area.

AWARDS: Triathlon Age Group and relay awards are plaques with 5 year age groups from 19 and under to 80 plus. Overall and Master division winners receive beautiful alabaster sculptures values at $650 and $350 respectfully. All finishers get finisher medals. Can't make the award ceremony? Don't worry, we mail plaques but not alabaster sculptures. No Race Day Registration.

CANCELLATION POLICY: There are NO REFUNDS. You can cancel up to 21 days prior to event for a TRANSFER to a future SPECIFIC MME event of your choosing within the next 12 months. Within 20 days or less, there are NO TRANSFERS. Please check the countdown timer above the pricing schedule. You can switch divisions any time prior to race day for an fee of $5 plus any entry fee differences. Don't you really wish all events had this friendly and liberal policy?
