Course Description: Breaking News! Entire course has been newly paved and/or graded. We run to the Hoover Dam overlook. Tired of the same old races? Then try something really different. Run is out and back on old railroad track long since removed and now part of the Rail-to-Trails Conservancy and the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. We run right above Lake Mead for entire event for some bodacious views. Route is on newly packed (50%) and paved trails (50%). No steep climbs here, but there are gradual "grades" (3.2%) used in the hauling of supplies to Hoover Dam during the early thirties. Entire elevation gain is only 592 feet. On the way to Hoover Dam, the runner passes through six (6) tunnels on this course in each direction. Turnaround is located just up from the police station. Aid stations are every 1.6 miles with water and HEED Endurance. A GUARANTEED SMOOTH course with ONE LAP ONLY. This is a spectator friendly event, so please bring your family. There is no vehicular traffic on this course, so you may take as long as you want to finish this event. No baby strollers nor animals are allowed on the course during event. Check out: Trail History

  • Conveniently Located. Only 700 yards to race Start/Finish. Hotel is 4 miles North of the Hoover Dam on Hwy 93.
  • Special Room Rates: $ 79.95 per night plus tax for Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Call 702.293.5000 ask for "Six Tunnels Half Marathon" rate. On February 15, their rate increases big time!
  • ALL PARKING is at the Hacienda Hotel and Casino with a half mile walk to the start/finish area OR across the street in their overflow dirt parking lot. No parking within the Nt'l Park nor along Lakeshore Drive.

  • Super Easy Packet Pick Up
    March 10 to 14 For Runners who registered on-line by 3/07 or by mail by 2/29 ONLY: Pick Up on March 10 to 14 at Run Bike Swim store 9 AM to 7 PM. We know this is not possible for a few athletes, so early packet pick up on 3/15 at race site is OK.
  • Late Registration & Late Packet Pick Up: In person March 14 from 2-6 at Run Bike Swim store. This will be the very last chance to register. Runners who register AFTER 3/07 will be able to pick up their packets during this time.

  • Awards: Best overall awards in the business! Overall and Master get Colorado Alabaster Sculptures (photo at right) valued at $550 and $350 respectively each. Age group awards are plaques. 5 year age groups: Half from 19 and under, Sprint add 14 and under and 15 to 19 age groups. All finishers get finisher medals.
  • Cancellation Policy: There are NO REFUNDS. You can cancel up to 15 days prior to event for a TRANSFER to a future MME event within the next 12 months. Within 14 days or less, there are NO TRANSFERS. You can switch divisions anytime prior to race day for a fee of $5 plus any entry fee differences. Don't you wish all events had this friendly & liberal policy?
